Our child will be born in one and a half months, at that time we will be faced with yet another chance at a life changing adventure. We have been blessed to encounter two really great people, Susan and Jesse. A great older couple from San Francisco who have 13 acres of land and an Off-Grid home 20 minutes outside of Santa Fe.
They built their house by hand, and it is amazing!
We went to see it last weekend and were truly blown away. They have 16 solar panels, wind energy, well water, chickens, and raised bed gardens. It is really sustainable. For real.
They are completely off grid, pulling all of their power from solar and wind and getting all of their water from the well.
So, they have invited us to join them and help build a small casita for us to live in--indefinitely.
We would still be able to work in Santa Fe, although I (Keenan) would probably work for us while Nicole nurses the little one, at least for a while.
This is a great opportunity for us to learn about real sustainability, adobe building, solar installation, gardening, etc. Such a great blessing.
We will be needing some new wheels to get around, and we putting that out to the universe, so keep that in your thoughts for us.
We are very happy right now and really hopeful.
